What is a tax number?
Working on construction sites requires that the employee's tax number has been entered into the public tax number register for the construction industry. Working at a shipyard, on the other hand, requires that the employee's tax number has been entered into the public tax number register for the shipbuilding industry.
All Finnish citizens have a tax number, which can be found on their tax card, in MyTax, or by calling the Finnish Tax Administration. A tax number is a permanent identifier consisting of 12 digits, for example "100012345678". A foreign employee needs a Finnish personal identity code in order to obtain a tax number.
Employee Management checks whether the added person is included in the tax number register for the industry specified in the employee's information. A Valtti card can only be ordered for an employee who is included in the tax number register.
