Collective agreement in Finland
By Finnish law any company that works in Finland and has employees must adhere to a Finnish collective agreement if there is a universally binding collective agreement in the sector. This applies to both Finnish and non-Finnish companies, including those that only work in Finland for a short period of time.
If the sector does not have a universally binding collective agreement and they have not agreed to apply a non-binding collective agreement, they can state: The company is not covered by a standard binding collective agreement and there is no general binding collective agreement in the company’s industry. The company complies with the provisions of the Employment Contracts Act and the Working Time Act regarding the salary and working conditions of its employees.
